Well water filter and I am close to the beach, my jug has started to have sandy brown residues at the bottom, and they tell me they are minerals from the water, it seems like sand to me! Also, the kettle fills at the bottom with white residues and also in suspension, and again they tell me they are minerals, I believe some of it about the kettle but not about the jug, the residue is sandy and does not dissolve like in the kettle. I don't know, but this doesn't give me much confidence, always the same explanation for different problems. Other plastics are indeed harder because resins and hardeners are added to make them stronger, but they are not recommended for contact with food or liquids as they emit toxins from the container to the substances being consumed.
