The store consistently delivers fast delivery and careful packaging, ensuring orders arrive quickly and in good condition. Customers highlight a broad and varied selection, with many praising the authentic flavors of the spices and the superb fragrance of vanillas, peppers, and pralines. Hello, I am disappointed with the cancellation of my order... I took the time to ask if the packages were indeed sent internationally. I was told yes, but without being informed of the limits. Once the order was placed, I received the refund. It's strange... I was the one paying for the shipping. In any case, thank you for the quick refund. Have a nice day!

Beware of scam! I placed my order (by the way without free shipping, but okay...) and after a long wait, this order was not delivered. I then send a message to DV to explain the problem but they hide behind their T&Cs to tell me they will do nothing. Unbelievable! Where all other online merchants either resend an order or look for solutions, DV takes your money and leaves you in trouble. Clearly, they do not understand what a customer is and will stop at nothing to collect euros at all costs. In short, to be avoided absolutely!

Here is my response to your email, I took care to understand and respond to you very quickly: Hello, You ordered for the first time "gourmet Tahitensis vanilla aged from Papua +14cm". Here is the link, this reference is out of stock: https://www.davidvanille.com/fr/gousses-de-vanille/97-vanille-tahitensis-gourmet-papouasie-nouvelle-guinee.html You then, for your next two orders (of dry vanilla, one first received and one order made again later), bought 20 pods of "dry vanilla from Papua", this reference: https://www.davidvanille.com/fr/gousses-de-vanille/248-20-gousses-vanille-seche-papouasie-nouvelle-guinee.html These two vanilla pods are completely different. You made a mistake with the vanilla during your purchase. Please take the time to read and compare the sheets. You will see that the difference between a gourmet aged Tahitensis vanilla and a dry vanilla from Papua is well explained. I can't do better than to put the word "dry" in the title for the second one. If you take the time to read my product sheets, some pods are much more fleshy, soft, and fragrant than my dry vanilla from Papua. The price is also different. When you received your first 20 dry vanilla pods, I did not have this reaction. You even reordered some a few days later. Best regards, David

Hello,
I just looked at the tracking of your order and the photos of the vanilla sent.
The pods are mostly 17cm, the pods are beautiful and fleshy.
The moisture content of a vanilla pod is not an indicator of quality (32% for your vanilla). The vanillin content, the aromatic amplitude, the result in pastry is the most important.
If I show you the same vanilla, the same batch at 36%, do you think the quality will be better?
Your resulting vanillin content will be lower as it correlates with moisture/vanillin/batch.
Best regards,

As I have always done, I have pods from other sellers from 2016 still in perfect condition. After contacting the seller, he tells me it's my fault for not following his preservation advice! Hello Pierre, Here is my last email to clearly understand the follow-up I provided for your order: Mr ......, The order was sent the day after your purchase. The relay refused my cardboard letter for shipment as they had no more space. It should be noted that the relay refuses before receiving packages when they have a large volume of arrivals. I contacted you by phone on Wednesday, December 4 to inform you of the delivery of your order to another relay (following your email). I contacted the relay this morning who indicated that they only require an ID as proof to receive your package. I have never had a case where a clerk requested another proof, otherwise, a simple call on my mobile would have sufficed to validate the pickup at the post office. Care in preparation and follow-up to each of your emails was provided for your order. I treat each of my partners, subcontractors or not, with great respect. The two people I spoke to on the phone at Part Dieu assured me that a simple proof of identity is sufficient. If my logistics partner was unable to respond to your initial request for a relay, I am sorry (week of Black Friday). For the non-respect of a 48-72h deadline, it arrived late but arrived on Friday, December 6 at the post office. (Your order is available until December 17 at the relay) More than two hours of follow-up were necessary for your order. Hello Anne,
Thank you sincerely for taking the time to leave a review. My shipping costs for Belgium are €11.89 with DHL express delivery. They are FREE from €149 in Europe.
To give you a comparison, sending a 1kg package via colissimo without signature is €15.05 (post office rates). My goal is to offer a premium service at the best price.
It would be possible to offer deliveries with relay solutions (delivery in 5 to 7 days) at a lower price but I am not interested because the service is not comfortable for my customers and the tracking is random.
You had already contacted me on July 13 to inform me that my shipping costs were too high, I then proposed FREE delivery in Europe from €149 instead of €199 previously. I am listening to my customers and doing my best to meet their expectations.

Response from DavidVanille.com – Spice Hunter
Hello Pierre,
I am very surprised by your opinion but remain open to every remark. I just looked at the MMS sent during your order. The pods are stabilized at 32-35% humidity, the notes are intense: cocoa, caramelized, indulgent, vanilla. Length of the pods 16-18cm. A humid vanilla at +35% is not a quality factor but rather the opposite.
The jute bag is simply "a gift offered" to keep the hermetic sachet protected from light and optimize the preservation of your Bourbon Gold vanilla pods from Madagascar.

I really like certain parts of the site that clearly show the seller's passion and make you want to read everything. I like less the navigation as a buyer, I have trouble finding my bearings. I also like less the price fluctuations. We are sold a 20% discount on pre-order and a month later, without discount, it's cheaper than pre-order, discount included. And I regret the disappearance of other spices from the site.

Hello Laure, Thank you for your feedback. I have renegotiated all my prices with my vanilla collectors with a 'transparent' newsletter to inform my clients. To accurately meet my clients' needs, I have created a format of 10, 20, and 40 pods for Bourbon Gold vanilla from Madagascar, Papua New Guinea, Uganda and only offer vanilla in 500g format beyond that. Please note that spices will return in a few months. Expect to discover 'off the beaten path' spices starting in September. Hello Gilles, As I replied to you by email, my selections have a rare intensity thanks to a long aging. We can always do a simple demonstration. Take 1 kg of extraction vanilla (Papua extraction type or Bourbon Gold aged) and the same quality in development at 35% humidity (which is 50% fewer pods per kg but much larger because more humid). Ask your client for the best. The preference will always go for the extraction vanilla not yet fully aged. Should I sell a more humid vanilla to my clients, highlight a softer price per kg and offer it as black vanilla? Of course not. It is difficult to explain that a well-humid and large vanilla is not necessarily a guarantee of quality. Too often, vanillas sold as black vanillas are vanillas that lack aging with a humidity rate that decreases in a few days. Currently, the kg of vanilla is negotiated around $600-700. To guarantee you aged vanillas in the long term, David Vanilla will focus on purchasing extraction vanilla as in the photo. Extraction vanilla, pods much drier than black vanilla, an intense nose. Today, what was previously despised by the market is part of the noblest lots. Obviously, there are many more pods in a kilo of extraction vanilla than in a kilo of so-called black vanilla. This will allow me to maintain an attractive pod/price ratio for my loyal private and professional clients. The most important: the ratio of vanillin content to dry matter is much higher than that of black vanilla regardless of its origin. Vanilla pods thus offer a more pronounced and

Hello Anita,
Thank you for your review.
In 2013, the price per kilo was around 53 euros. Five years later, you need to count more than 650 euros for a Bourbon Gold vanilla from Madagascar. Other countries have followed suit and it is very difficult to find vanilla. Currently, there is a significant crisis in the market.
