Customer reviews of DavidVanille.com – Spice Hunter

I gave 4 stars because many teas and infusions are out of stock!!
Otherwise, I usually order and generally very well.

The site is clear, the descriptions are precise and the order was easy to place. The shipment was fast and well packaged.
The products were delivered in impeccable condition, with a nice presentation. I also appreciated the order tracking.

Product conforms to the description, fast delivery. Pods are good, very fragrant.

I would have really appreciated being able to be delivered by tracked letter! Can you please integrate this delivery method into your business in the future?

I love the diversity of products from around the world

I am very satisfied with the fast service and the quality of the products. However, the offer of 'free vanilla pods as a gift' is very disappointing... the vanilla is of poor quality and very dry! (unusable). Beware! A gift is a gift... not a clearance of expired products!

Accessible

Very happy with the products, fast delivery.
The only downside is the packaging... I ordered pepper and vanilla, I only received small bags (at least 30 or 40 small bags...!) whereas for these products, different sizes are offered (25, 50, 100, 250).

On the order tracking part, it is less intuitive.

Nothing to complain about, everything is perfect.

Clear intuitive site

The site is very beautiful and makes you want to buy vanilla. But there is a discomfort once the package is received and you discover the merchandise.

Great products, received quickly and well packaged. The only downside is that the loose tea bags are too small. They used to be bigger and it was better. The bags were resealable and we had time to fully enjoy them. I regret that there are fewer and fewer resealable bags. It was really practical.

The pods are of very good quality except for those from Uganda Victoria. They are very dry but otherwise very good.

Order easy to place. Easy payment. Delivery very well packaged in a nice box.

Products not qualitative

Receive the tea in a single bag corresponding to the order. For example, for a 100g order, one 100g bag avoids waste of packaging and takes up less space for storage.

Hello, I allow myself this negative review because my experience with your products was unfortunately very disappointing. The main disappointment was the quality of the vanilla. Despite the more than positive reviews on your site about your pods, I found myself with particularly dry pods, on the verge of being brittle. The dryness of the pods directly impacts the quality of the product and its aromas. Having already ordered from other suppliers, I was used to receiving fresh and well-oiled pods, unfortunately this was not the case with your products. One pod in one of the packages was even damaged, you can see it in the attached photos. As for the pistachios, they hardly do better than the vanilla, they are soft and lack flavor. Please excuse me for this negative review which may be unpleasant to read, I agree, but given the comments on your products, my expectations that arose from them, as well as the comparisons I can make with products from other competitors, I can only be disappointed by this first experience. I prefer to go back to other suppliers whose product quality has convinced me while remaining reasonably competitive with your prices. Thank you for your understanding and good continuation.

For certain products, the packaging is small when ordering a larger quantity for 100g, 4 or 5 packets is bulky.

More teas and coffees, less infusions.

Navigation quite simple. I easily found what I was looking for, especially the very useful storage tips when buying in large quantities.

No issues with delivery...

As for the products, they are top-notch! The only downside is the packaging, the bags are not resealable and I don't have enough glass containers to store everything

Small issue on desktop (Chrome/W11) that did not allow selecting other packaging. No issue on Mobile (Chrome/Android)

If you are still hesitant, don't be, go for it with your eyes closed.
A customer for 4 years, I have never been disappointed, neither by the quality of the products, nor by their price, nor by the delivery which is always so fast and reliable.

The vanilla is of good quality.
The fine herbs are of good quality.
However, the ginger offered is quite mediocre.

Smooth navigation on the site. Very interesting prices

Perfect: The navigation is easy. Well compartmentalized so that we can discover or search for products with, in addition, sorting or filters... Moreover, for each product: precise explanations and often recipe ideas. Fast delivery, well packaged and protected products... packaging in several minimum 'doses' is very practical.

Hello, it's hard to give you my opinion because my order never arrived, I keep chasing the carrier, so for now I remain on my first experience which is very good. However, I sent you emails and never received any response, and let's not talk about reaching you by phone.

Very good

The black pepper disappointed us because the grains are smaller than those we know
because the sheets are smaller than what we knew

Very good product, always happy to order from you

Vanilla rum infusion that tastes like neither, meat base containing only salt without taste, unacceptable

Very good site

I am disappointed not to have received a response to several messages I sent asking one thing: 'How can we proceed to obtain the best flavors of vanilla pods?' I still have not received a response on this subject but I receive promotional offers by email every two or three days. For me, the site davidvanille.com is just business

were also FREE. This is drier vanilla intended for macerations, arranged rums, and syrups. The weight of a pod does not determine its quality at all. You weigh as a professional or individual a water content. At our level, in the importation of vanilla, after years in the industry, here are the most important points: - Vanillin content (main molecule for purely vanilla notes) - Associated aromatic amplitude On this batch: Main Notes: Vanilla, Red Fruits (Raspberries, Currants), Forest Fruits (Blackberries, Blueberries) Heart Notes: Slightly woody, Very candied. - Harvest period - Lot aging, compliance with the specifications specific to each importer (here, long traditional aging as in the past). - Nutrients from the soil from which the pods come, indigenous terroir, type of cultivation (shade, agroforestry, intensive...) - Final result in the creations of our chef and individual clients. Finally, the vanilla that the industry buys to create vanilla extract is only split or unsplit vanilla extraction. Like us, it focuses on the quality of the batch and not on the visual. Today, 90% of imports in the agri-food sector remain vanilla extraction for the quality of its aromatic contents (though dry but much more intense). Best regards, The David Vanille team

The vanilla pieces are not particularly tasty, they are very hard. I tried to chew a piece because I like it, but it's tough. Pepper ok, ginger ok, mild curry... not so mild after all.

I received my order well, products always packaged in sealed individual bags but, unlike my previous orders, these are not resealable and I find that very unfortunate because I have to transfer everything into boxes with the loss of spices that this entails... I am not sure I will continue to buy on this site, despite the choice and quality of the products due to the packaging. Best regards

Good, fast delivery, my package well sealed
