There are different varieties of vanilla with a more or less dry texture; the same goes for the humidity level. You need to choose your vanilla based on what you want to make. It's not the appearance that determines the quality of the vanilla. Regarding Bourbon vanilla, the Red variety often has higher vanillin content than that of a Black Gold Bourbon vanilla, which is fattier!

Hello, We have checked all our batch in bags and did not have this problem. We contacted our partner who is equipped with a stone and metal detector. We checked your orders and saw that this pistachio order was from a year ago. You placed another order recently. We reread your email and it was marked almonds while in your review you now say 'pistachios'.. We also did the same with our almond supplier who uses the same sorting techniques. Visual: Brown vanilla is a dry vanilla pod compared to a black ebony vanilla from Uganda (wet). The pods may have some visual defects of overripeness (cracked) indicating a harvest at full maturity (late harvest). The pods double in volume after rehydration in your milk, your sauce, or in a base of alcohol.
Origin: Brown vanilla pods, resulting from a long aging on the shores of Lake Victoria, just a few steps from the source of the Nile.
