Indeed, curing is essential on a new pipe as it protects the wood from heat. For this, we recommend putting little tobacco on the first 10 pipes and then gradually increasing the tobacco dose to create a uniform protective layer throughout the chamber. At La Pipe Rit, we only sell new pipes. The marks you see inside the bowl are completely normal; they are simply marks left by the tools used by the pipe artisans during the manufacturing of the pipes.

The wooden tip of the pipe broke at the point where the plastic tube is inserted. A piece came off. After 3 weeks of low usage (1 pack for 12 days) Customer service informs me, based on the photo, that this is not a defect. Clearly the pipe is FRAGILE then. I did not have this problem with a pipe that costs about 9 euros currently. (20 francs at the time). Not classy then.

As indicated during our exchanges by email, you must absolutely wait for your pipes to be completely cold before disassembling them. Moreover, we recommend that you always turn the tube on itself, in the same direction, as if it were screwed onto the wooden stem. We also confirm that we can repair your pipe but that, according to your photo, it will not be covered by the warranty as it is not a defect.
