When using a new pipe, it is imperative to perform a slow and delicate charring to create a protective carbon layer inside the bowl. Generally, it should always be possible to hold the pipe in hand without it being uncomfortable. If you feel that the pipe is hot, you should let it extinguish and cool down before relighting it. According to our general sales conditions, your pipe cannot benefit from the warranty as it is not a manufacturing defect but rather clumsy use. Briar pipes with a bowl lined with meerschaum can be a good solution as meerschaum better protects the wood from heat. Therefore, the briar is unlikely to get damaged even if you draw too hard. As stated in our general sales conditions, all our items are guaranteed for 1 year from the date of purchase against any manufacturing defect. Also, after analysis, your pipe showed no defects or design flaws. Indeed, the tar accumulated inside the stem and the completely clogged filter unfortunately rendered your pipe unusable. This lack of cleaning inevitably caused the disconnection of the tenon from the stem.
