Generally, it should always be possible to hold the pipe in hand without it being uncomfortable. If you feel that the pipe is hot, you should let it extinguish and cool down before relighting it. According to our general sales conditions, your pipe cannot benefit from the warranty as it is not a manufacturing defect but rather clumsy use. Briar pipes with a bowl lined with meerschaum can be a good solution as meerschaum better protects the wood from heat. Therefore, the briar is unlikely to get damaged even if you draw too hard. These are certainly blocking the passage and preventing a perfect draw. Initially, you can try to pass a wire inside (or simply a pipe cleaner) to evacuate them. This should be enough to easily unclog the pipe. If you can't do it, you can of course return your pipe by La Poste so that we can take care of it quickly.
