Hello, As noted in the product description: "The Carbon 115 La Boule Bleue has a layer of varnish, which naturally wears off over time. Upon receipt, even new, these balls may show signs of impact on the varnish. This does not affect their quality." There may be manufacturing errors from the manufacturers.
