We prefer to have competitive prices and services (free gift wrapping, responsive customer service, etc.) for everyone rather than distributing promo codes (for new customers, loyal customers, etc.), this is a choice we made from the beginning. It also avoids the frustration of 'oh, there's a promo code field and I don't have one, I'm missing out on something...'.
