The appearance of greenish color is usually not due to a defect in the jug, but to a natural phenomenon that can occur when chlorine-free water remains stagnant for several days, especially in hot weather or if the jug is near a source of light or heat. It is a similar effect to what can be observed in ponds or containers with stored water for a while.
To eliminate it, we recommend performing a deep cleaning with a small amount of diluted bleach in water, letting it act for a few hours and then rinsing the jug thoroughly.
Additionally, to prevent its appearance, we advise performing a weekly cleaning of the jug. If you also observe whitish residues on the walls, you can use a mixture of warm water and vinegar in equal parts, letting it act for a few hours before rinsing. This helps to eliminate mineral deposits and restore the shine of the product.

The jug is very pretty and I love that it is made of glass. However, my main issue is that the glass seems to be quite delicate, and this aspect is not sufficiently explained in the product description. While washing it before its first use, it suffered a small bump and the handle cracked. The truth is that I am still quite upset, especially because I fear it won't take long to break completely. I feel especially bad because it was a gift for my 80-year-old mother, and now I think that the plastic version would have been a more suitable option for her. I think it would be advisable to clearly warn that it is fragile glass and should be handled with special care. I have other glass jugs (not filter jugs) that I have had for years and they have never cracked as easily as this one.

It is a bottle too big to carry, they should release a smaller version, plus it is through suction with a plastic straw (it does not have BPA, okay, but it is plastic...). Also, it should be noted that a lot of effort is needed in the suction, which is not recommended for people who suffer from bruxism, as it puts a lot of strain on the mouth muscles. I am going to stop buying from Alkanatur. It is a disaster every time there is a problem with the shipment. When you call by phone, for all orders there is the excuse that they are overwhelmed for one reason or another and they refer the problem to GLS, which is who has the items according to Alkanatur. Alkanatur assures that they do not manage the order but that GLS does. If I do not call customer service to complain that the delivery has not occurred, the orders do not arrive on the date specified in the shipping conditions.
