We are happy to read that you appreciated the quality of our service Aurélie, but sorry if the olfactory love at first sight was not there. As explained in my first message, the formula of our ippi patchouli perfume contains more than 40% natural patchouli from Indonesia: it is therefore the main ingredient of this fragrance. However, we can understand that it does not match your interpretation of patchouli, which has been influenced by all the patchouli perfumes you may have liked, which also contain patchouli, but not only. Also be careful not to compare a perfume containing several ingredients (including patchouli) to a patchouli essential oil (which contains only patchouli): these will logically be two totally different scents. It's a shame you didn't start by ordering our Discovery Pack. We sincerely wish you to find your happiness with our colleagues and hope that your nose will cross paths with our perfumes one day! If our fragrances didn't last, we would have pulled the curtain a long time ago, but it's good to remember that a fragrance can react, smell, or last differently from one person to another, as the longevity depends a lot on the skin of the person wearing it. Don't hesitate to perfume your clothes, on which the fragrance will last longer, or to opt for a pure perfume that will be even more concentrated and therefore more intense than the eau de parfum. Also be careful of temporary loss of smell caused by allergies or viruses, or a change in cosmetic products in your routine for example. We are also disappointed, Valerie, that you did not find your happiness in our collection! The other reviews are as sincere as yours, and you can imagine that if our perfumes did not last, we would not have existed since 1988. The explanation lies elsewhere... While some fragrances in our collection are made to be rather discreet and confidential (musk or aloe for example), others offer a beautiful trail and long-lasting presence. However, it is important to remember that a perfume can react, smell, or last differently from one person to another, as the longevity depends a lot on the skin of the person wearing it. Do not hesitate to perfume your clothes, on which the scent will last longer, or to opt for a pure perfume that will be even more concentrated and therefore more intense than eau de parfum. Also be careful of temporary loss of smell caused by allergies or viruses, or a change in cosmetic products in your routine for example. Finally, I concede that our samples are equipped with a roll-on that is less practical than a spray for dosing and distributing the perfume. This may also explain this impression of lightness, which could disappear with your bottle as it is equipped with a spray. We are sorry that you did not have an olfactory crush with our perfume Caroline. However, we wanted to confirm that vanilla is indeed the ingredient at the heart of this fragrance: a natural vanilla from Madagascar to be precise. Be careful: as explained on the sheet of this perfume, it is not a solinote, so other ingredients mingle with the vanilla to give it depth (like caramel, almond, or tobacco). This eau de parfum generally offers good longevity, especially thanks to its sweet notes, but it is true that the longevity can vary from person to person (depending on our skin, the cosmetic products used...). Don't hesitate to perfume your clothes or hair, on which the fragrance may last longer than on your skin. As someone who should know us so well after so many years of wearing our perfumes, I'm amazed that you think we've changed our packaging "for economies of scale". What a pity you didn't call us, we would have explained to you that the new label decorating our bottles is anything but "cheap": we worked for several months with our French printer to create a specially designed shape, embossing and silver hot stamping. They are then delicately applied by hand in our Nîmes workshop by Dominique and Cécile, which requires a great deal of time and attention. The idea was not to save money, but to offer a graphic universe to each fragrance, to complement their olfactory worlds. We're sorry if you don't like the new design, but we'd have appreciated it if these comments had been tempered by the quality of our fragrances that you love so much, or by the quality of our service with the ultra-fast dispatch of your parcel, the thoughtfulness that goes into it... We are the first ones to be disappointed when a curious nose does not find its total happiness among our Karim fragrances. We would not be celebrating our 35th anniversary this year if our fragrances did not hold up. On the other hand, it is true that the durability of a perfume can vary from one person to another depending on our skin. It also takes time for our brain to get used to new fragrances and discover all their facets. I sincerely hope that you will find your happiness with other perfumes from our collection (maybe try the pure perfumes which are even more concentrated and therefore more intense) or with our fellow perfumers. Thank you for your feedback Jean-François. We would be curious to know what is the "only" fragrance in our collection that you consider masculine? The appreciation of a fragrance is very subjective and opinions can differ from one perfume to another. But go and explain to the many men who wear our "mixed and masculine" perfumes indicated on the dedicated page of our site that they wear a perfume for women, I don't think they share your opinion... Besides, why should some ingredients be feminine and others masculine? If in Europe few men wear flowery perfumes, they are numerous to wear rose in the Middle East for example. It's all a question of olfactory culture and one must be wary of the codes imposed in Europe by marketing campaigns for decades. Everyone is free to appreciate and adopt a perfume according to their taste. I hope you have at least appreciated the perfume you consider as masculine, otherwise good luck in your research!

We're sorry that our fragrance doesn't match your taste Christine, but thank you for having the curiosity to test it! The ippi patchouli eau de parfum is quite a powerful scent indeed, containing a bit of musk in the base note to set the formula together, but it is indeed the patchouli (Indonesian patchouli essence to be precise) that is highlighted in this fragrance, especially its woody and earthy facets. The beauty of Perfume lies in the fact that we can all perceive the same fragrance differently, and perceive certain notes more than others. Maybe ippi patchouli CLAIR with its citrusy top note and its gourmand touch of praline in the base note would suit you better, don't hesitate to tell us if you have the opportunity to try it... Especially since in another review you seem to be delighted with your Discovery Pack. We are the first to apologize if you didn't fall in love with these first 3 perfumes we tested and we respect your opinion about their originality: the perfume evokes different feelings for everyone. As for their staying power, it depends on several factors: each skin is different and diffuses the same perfume for more or less time. It would also be interesting to know which perfumes you have tested exactly, because if some are made to be intense and leave a trail, others are designed to be discrete and confidential. Finally, I'll grant you that the "earmuffs" that our samples are equipped with do not distribute the perfume as well as a spray bottle, which can have an effect on the duration of the perfume depending on the quantity applied. If you are a lover of intense fragrances with powerful and long-lasting scents, don't hesitate to opt for our pure perfumes, which are even more concentrated in raw materials than our eaux de parfum. We clearly state on our website that our perfumes are mixed Laurent: some fragrances are more feminine or masculine than others, but it depends a lot on the taste and olfactory culture of each person! Did you know that in the Middle East, for example, many men wear very floral fragrances, whereas flowers are considered feminine in the West? Raw materials have no gender, so why try to put perfumes in boxes? As long as you like a perfume, it is made for you, forget the codes... You have been ordering ippi patchouli and ippi patchouli clair for years, which are perfumes designed to be powerful and to leave a trail behind your steps. Musk, on the other hand, is designed to be intimate, as indicated in the details of its notes on our site. It is a discreet perfume, for those who do not wish to leave a trail behind them. It is true that some skin types drink up perfumes faster than others, and this may be the case for you, but our many customers who have been addicted to this perfume since the late 1980s will surely not share your opinion when you say that it is "imperceptible".
However, we recommend using it in your hair or on your clothes to enjoy its scent longer than on your skin, and it's a fragrance that blends divinely with ippi patchouli (start with a few sprays of ippi patchouli, then spray musk a few seconds later). First of all, we are delighted to read that you like our perfumes, and as for their staying power, it's hard to say that they don't hold up: our fragrances are eaux de parfum, which means that they contain a fairly high concentration of perfume that has allowed them to seduce thousands of noses for over 30 years. On the other hand, several elements can explain this impression:
- Some fragrances are designed to be powerful and leave a trail behind you (e.g. ippi patchouli, kilim, so, vanilla, 555 or even label rose) and others are created with the intention of making intimate fragrances, for those who prefer discreet scents (musk, original musk or alõ for example).
- The other very important factor is your skin: each skin is different and will "drink" a perfume more or less quickly. If this is your case, we recommend perfuming your hair or your clothes for example, on which the perfume will last longer.
- Finally, the format of our samples, which are equipped with an ear bud and not a spray bottle, may explain this feeling. The spray bottle makes it easier to dose and distribute the fragrance on the skin, improving the staying power of the fragrance.
