I bought these beads to banish the kilos of plastic that the consumption of water bottles represents for a household of 4 people. I've been testing them for a few months now and the efficiency is still the same as on the first day. I have been looking for a way to purify my water for a long time and this is a good alternative to traditional filters. The delivery was very fast 1 day.the sticks last up to 6 months so I have a very long time, this is a good value for money.

Easy to use and above all effective to be able to drink tap water serenely. Everything is clearly explained on the packaging, which is not negligible. I highly recommend it.

The principle of the binchotan is that you put a stick of charcoal in your carafe of water of one liter (after having made boil the stick ten minutes, to be renewed once per month) and that the activated charcoal absorbs a part of the harmful elements (the taste of chlorine disappears and it seems the pesticides) while releasing some interesting trace elements. What is certain is that the water tastes better. The disadvantage is that it is necessary to leave the water from 4 to 8 hours before drinking it (thus a rotation on at least two carafes).a stick can be used 6 months, and it is recycled very well (in particular in absorber of odor in the refrigerator, then in the chimney).There is another brand black+blum which proposes sticks calibrated for a plastic gourd (they get stuck in it which avoids that the stick moves and risks to crumble in the carafe when we serve ourselves) but the plastic it is not recommended any more for the drinking water, and the price is a little bit higher. Here, one of the sticks I received (out of 6) has a knot that prevents it from going into my usual carafe, but it fits easily into a wide-necked pot. In summary, a good alternative to bottled water and filtering carafes from an ecological point of view (although it should be possible to make green oak charcoal in France rather than importing it from Japan) and economically, but it is a bit restrictive, especially for a family with children.

Indeed I notice the change. My water contains a lot of limescale. Since I have been using it I have noticed a clear change. It doesn't remove all of it, but it still works.

Incredibly efficient, perhaps more so than reverse osmosis filtration, as my tester tells me, and about 20 times cheaper. I can attest to this as I also have a KFLOW worth about €500 and I wonder why I don't send it back... Maybe a small doubt and nothing prevents me from adding these ceramic beads to the filtered water of the KFLOW.

Now that I know, it will be difficult to do without these activated charcoal sticksKnowing that charcoal is used in emergency rooms in case of poisoning, its filtering and absorbing properties are no longer to be proven.We don't buy plastic bottles, I find it extremely polluting and we don't have a filter carafe either, but the water in our city is not so good and the environment is quite polluted, so I wanted to try the Binchotan, already knowing that charcoal has many qualities (adds minerals and trace elements, filters chemicals and heavy metals).The only small effort to make is to boil your sticks once a month for 6 months (you can do it in rice or pasta water), in order to purify them again, frankly the calculation is quickly done, you can very well give yourself this little trouble to try to fix things a little bit.Here we have 6 glass water bottles that we can fill as much as we want. The water is really perfect to be drunk 4 hours after filling, so the rotation is practical.and there, there is no photo, if you thought that the water has no taste you are going to be surprised! I have the impression to drink the spring of my grandfather, devoid of chemical tastes. What a pleasure, the difference is obvious! 6 sticks is good, it makes us about 9 months of water consumption with carbon, I let you do the calculation but in terms of purchase of water bottles or carafe filters, it is quickly done! No more waste and a real economy. When the carbon stick is no longer effective, it recycles naturally, you can use it for your plants.The little extra of this brand, 1% of the sale price is donated to a reforestation program, what to compensate for carbon emissions related to the transport of sticks (a limited transport compared to that of water packs purchased in trade this-dit) and participate in the fight against deforestation.the coal is adopted!

So I confess: when I received the package, I thought we had received some kind of tools for DIY.... at the level of aesthetics of the product the note is quite low. Then I was very disappointed not to find a manual. You have to ask the seller for it... which I didn't have the time to do (it's getting tedious for an instruction manual). So I poured everything in the same carafe, it slips quite a bit when I want to serve us. After that, it's a long-lasting product, reusable and that allows to have less limestone in the water but you still have to know how to use it correctly.

It replaces filters and other water softeners. Several months of use. Reusable once without the same duration. Afterwards you can use them crush them or not and use them in textile bag as air freshener. Suitable for the water tank of coffee machines, water bottles, gourds ...
