the site and the products are perfect, as well as the advice received by email; however, I regret that my emails and SMS are not answered when I ask questions

The items are compliant and carefully packaged. However, I had to follow up with the store because 8 days after placing my order, I had no news. I received it 5 days later, with a message explaining that one item had to be awaited. I would have liked to know that sooner.

I stumbled upon papeterie-Makkura.fr by chance (but not "on the Pont des Arts") at the end of January 2026, in search of fountain pens and inks from the Pilot brand; I needed some advice and a precise and friendly response reached me by email in less than 24 hours; I placed an order on February 16, the responsiveness was immediate, the tracking rigorous and the package was already there on the 19th, in quality packaging where the fragile items were well protected and strictly conforming to my choices. This sales site is therefore not only reliable, I assert it is highly recommendable. I only gave 4 **** because it means very good and not 5***** meaning perfect, which does not exist in this world (except for my faithful dog of course...) The catalog is clear, neat and precise, we are strictly speaking in a stationery store, a "shop" where one enjoys lingering in search of quality products in the field of writing, paper of course but also fountain pens and ink to feed them. Each item is accompanied by an impeccable description enhanced by a personalized judgment and references to complementary items. The prices are quite reasonable (with a kind gesture of free delivery from 69.00€, an amount easily reached for any lover of beautiful writing). Four reflections: 1- Good inks have a fairly high cost, they should neither be wasted nor thrown away (unlike anchors...) 2- The excellent Pilot Hiroshizuku ink costs at Makkura between 0.60€ and 1.20€/ml (depending on the packaging), it is intended for our precious fountain pen, you won't find a better offer elsewhere, at least I believe. 3- The ink from the cartridges of our vulgar printer can cost up to 7 to 8.00€/ml, making fountain pen ink seem almost cheap... 4- How to compare the pleasure of having in hand a beautiful page written with a pen and the soulless sensation that a bland page produces when it comes out with a loud noise on 80g special printer paper... One quickly understands that the inspiration of this stationery is closely linked to the Land of the Rising Sun, with all the quality and refinement that this implies. (It is striking to note how made in Japan reassures us and how made in China or Taiwan worries us) The very name of Makkura seems to be a tribute to Karolina's beloved cat, the founder of the place; not knowing the Japanese language I searched if this name had a meaning and the answer is yes: "totally dark, obscure" but with perhaps a nuance of serenity, of mystery? The cat is therefore perhaps black, peaceful and impenetrable. (Karolina will correct this hypothesis if necessary...) Thus, one should not be surprised to find at Makkura excellent fountain pens like Pilot, Sailor or Kaweko (ranging from 15€ to over 1000€), but also magnificent inks, my preference undoubtedly going to the Pilot Hiroshizuku brand for four reasons: 1- The excellent quality of the ink of course, universally recognized. 2- The exceptional diversity of shades (26 or 27 I believe), unmatched. (except for Diamine) 3- The beauty of the bottles in 15 or 50ml, delicate without being ostentatious. (the same refinement for the unusually silver-laminated cartridge cases); some bottles that I own seem a bit "look at me" like the commemorative inks from Montblanc or the 1798 inks from Jacques Herbin, a matter of taste... 4- The poetry of the names given to each color, absolutely unique in the world (my first three purchases were thus ku-jaku: a shade evoking the turquoise of peacock feathers, then asa-gao: evoking the blue of the flower that opens in the morning to last only one day ("morning glory", more scientifically ipomoea, bindweed) and yu-yake: orange evoking the sunset, purchases made before knowing Makkura) And one will find a wide choice of very good papers ("let the little papers speak") for notes or correspondence, for example Midori papers with various very delicate floral patterns for those who like a dressed page to offer the recipient a little gift before reading ("may it one evening, blotting paper, console you"); and finally many accessories related to writing are also available. I therefore received among others kon-peki ink (azure blue like a cloudless sky), momidji (red reminiscent of the maple leaf in autumn), yama-budo (deep purple like wild grape) etc. How can one not become a fan of these inks and not want to possess them all; they have an incomparable luminous depth, magnificent tones, an ideal density to adhere well to the nib, they surpass all others in quality/diversity and I believe I know what I am talking about having a fairly broad experience (J. Herbin, Diamine, Montblanc, Pelikan Edelstein, Sheaffer, Lamy, Rohrer & Klingner etc) My collection is far from complete, I will therefore return to visit Makkura for other inks, Tomoe River paper (currently unavailable), or a coveted Pilot Capless (decimo or carbonesque perhaps), a unique pen, without a screw or clip cap, magnificent and disconcerting with its chic ballpoint pen look and its very fine gold nib that springs out with a click and then disappears safely with a clap. If we played the old grump: What has become of the correspondences of our ancestors from the end of the 19th century with their words so beautifully traced by skilled nibs on papers of a fineness that has disappeared? (or almost, Tomoe River, for how long...) What has become of our children whose fingers no longer know how to hold the pen but agilely flutter over keys and joysticks? And if we finished: I am neither paid by Makkura, nor by Pilot, nor by Karolina who runs Makkura... This Olympic period has given me the desire to attempt a record, that of the longest comment and perhaps I will climb onto the podium, having had for only stick a pen, for only ski a nib that glides and for only springboard the softness of a vellum...

I have had several problems with Pilot fountain pens and I have always been able to find solutions (returns and warranty) Overall, it is an address to recommend

Fast shipping and very well packaged products; fortunately because the postman had damage with another package (like softener!!!!) so gel everywhere. I was able to clean everything even the boxes (they are very pretty) of the ink bottles and everything was ok.

Package received on time and in good condition. But the packaging, to replace the nib of a capless (85€ after all), is really not up to the value of the item.

Order placed with a delivery guarantee by Chronopost that arrived more than eight days later. There is no instruction manual in the box to explain how to charge the converter or adjust the nib. Too bad.

Despite a shipping delay that did not match the information provided on the site, and a slight defect on one of the two ordered products, my shopping experience remains rather positive.

I am very satisfied with the products and the speed, but there is really too much plastic in the package, you add more even though the products are already packaged. A smaller box where they would be secured seems more logical with what we know now about plastic and waste.

I would have liked to receive an ink cartridge to try out my fountain pen.

The product is as expected as it is a Midori notebook so no issues there, after all it is the same product regardless of who sells it. My review is of Papeterie Makkura and the reason for 2 stars is I was very disappointed that it took almost a week for delivery which is very poor for an item as small and light as an A6 pocket notebook at a delivery charge of €5,90! And that was not even to my house but to my local post office as delivery to my house would have cost a couple of euros more! Honestly for that price I had expected 1 day delivery not 6 days. Next time I will just order from Amazon or Cultura as the price is the same but delivery is much faster and more convenient with it being delivered to my home and not a post office. A shame as I had hoped to be able to support a smaller business but they need to improve their delivery options. There are far cheaper options as I have bought items from many small businesses that do not charge so much and can still do less than 2 day deliveries to my actual home so I have no idea what is going on with their delivery arrangements.

Great product. But delivery times from Paris to Paris are a bit long.
