The store deserves more than 5 stars. Very good online store that you can quickly find your way around. The ordering and payment process is simple. The product ordered was not in stock. We were informed of this by email and told how long it was expected to take, as the knife has now been put into production. Ultimately, this feels even more personal, as I have now received a knife that has been specially produced for me rather than a knife from the shelf. The knife itself is great. Excellently crafted and simply a wonderful hand flatterer. The customer service should also be emphasized. I ordered a second knife a few days later. When the first one was ready, I asked whether it should be sent separately or together with the other knife. This saved on packaging and helped the environment. The second shipping fee was also credited. Finally, the shipping rounded off the great experience. Shipped on Thursday in France and arrived in Germany on Monday morning. To sum up, I can only recommend Honore Durand and say a big Merci beaucoup to all the staff there!

I wanted some nice steak knives and started searching. I came across some nice knives but nothing that really caught my eye, until I went to a chef ran restaurant where all of his dinner wear has a story. He brought me a knife to cut the duck and it was an old knife with a bee on it. I really liked the knife and how it felt. I ended up doing research and found that it was from France and those knives had a history. I found that Jean Dubost and Layole make the knives. The Jean Dubost knives had a lot of ABS plastic and I really liked the Layole options better but the site scared me, but I went for it anyway. Ordering straight from the factory was nice, tracking information was provided quickly, and they showed up quickly, and I'm in the US. I ordered two of the wide horn handle Laguiole steak knives. They are sharp, weight feels great, heavy on the handle side which is nice, I wear xl gloves and I’m glad I got the wide handle, perfect. There are what appears to be tooling marks on both of my bees, and a very little gap in the spine of the handles. Wish the bees were in better shape, but it is what it is I guess. The gap in the spine is hardly noticeable. All in all, I love them and would order them again, hopefully the bees will be better next time, or I guess next time I’ll have to go to the factory! I’m glad I found something that was made by a smaller company with a pretty long history, and not made in China! Thank you Layole for doing what you do.

The configuration of a knife according to your own ideas (blade, bolster, handles etc.) is perfectly guided, is fun and leads to a very good result, a knife that is a pleasure to use. With the very extensive presentation of the large number of folding knives, the additional indication of the handle material in the brief product description and the indication of an order number would make the selection easier. The navigation on the homepage takes some getting used to", the order and delivery worked perfectly (thx). In addition to the delivery options offered, delivery via DHL should be possible. For the price, the pocket knife parts ordered are unbeatable.
