Product conforms to the description and received quickly. I ordered this product 3 months ago. Since I discovered these ceramic pearls I notice less this unpleasant smell and try to consume less bottled water but more tap water. I recommend this product to my great surprise that works

I bought these beads to banish the kilos of plastic that the consumption of water bottles represents for a household of 4 people. I've been testing them for a few months now and the efficiency is still the same as on the first day. I use them in carafes, in the vases of senseo dolce gusto style coffee makers, which significantly reduces the scaling. I recommend this product

The principle of the binchotan is that you put a stick of charcoal in your carafe of water of one liter (after having made boil the stick ten minutes, to be renewed once per month) and that the activated charcoal absorbs a part of the harmful elements (the taste of chlorine disappears and it seems the pesticides) while releasing some interesting trace elements. What is certain is that the water tastes better. The disadvantage is that it is necessary to leave the water from 4 to 8 hours before drinking it (thus a rotation on at least two carafes).a stick can be used 6 months, and it is recycled very well (in particular in absorber of odor in the refrigerator, then in the chimney).There is another brand black+blum which proposes sticks calibrated for a plastic gourd (they get stuck in it which avoids that the stick moves and risks to crumble in the carafe when we serve ourselves) but the plastic it is not recommended any more for the drinking water, and the price is a little bit higher. Here, one of the sticks I received (out of 6) has a knot that prevents it from going into my usual carafe, but it fits easily into a wide-necked pot. In summary, a good alternative to bottled water and filtering carafes from an ecological point of view (although it should be possible to make green oak charcoal in France rather than importing it from Japan) and economically, but it is a bit restrictive, especially for a family with children.

Indeed I notice the change. My water contains a lot of limescale. Since I have been using it I have noticed a clear change. It doesn't remove all of it, but it still works.

So I confess: when I received the package, I thought we had received some kind of tools for DIY.... at the level of aesthetics of the product the note is quite low. Then I was very disappointed not to find a manual. You have to ask the seller for it... which I didn't have the time to do (it's getting tedious for an instruction manual). So I poured everything in the same carafe, it slips quite a bit when I want to serve us. After that, it's a long-lasting product, reusable and that allows to have less limestone in the water but you still have to know how to use it correctly.

Aesthetic nothing to say. Solidity to be seen in time on the other hand it is not obvious to completely forget the traditional cotton swabs in the profile of these bamboo cotton swabs.

After having started this new approach to water consumption, here is my feedback. I confirm, this way of filtering water is great. After two hours of filtering, the water tastes much better. Goodbye to the chore of water packs and thank you for the planet. To adopt with closed eyes.

Meets my expectations

This activated carbon filter does not give any unpleasant or peculiar taste to the water, whether you use it in a glass or earthen jug, or in a metal or plastic flask. I can't really tell if it actually filters the water, but I have noticed something quite peculiar: when you leave water in a closed water bottle for several days, it doesn't take on that rancid and weird taste we are used to. I have one criticism: the shape and the size of the sticks do not allow to insert them in all the bottles, because they don't always fit in the neck. Well, personally it only happened with one bottle, but it's a shame. On the other hand, it has another advantage: when you drink, the stick stays at the bottom and does not go through the neck to land in your mouth or in your glass. Note that in a metal bottle, as the stick tends to move, it makes a little noise when you move or when you move your bottle or your carafe.

These beads have a lot of uses, in a pitcher/bottle maybe, but they are also used in plant pots to aerate the soil, in aquariums to make bacterial nests, in decantation filters to clean the water for the fishes, these beads are not too bad, but they can be found much cheaper for a bigger quantity in an aquarium store.

Does not match the description. The beads are very large, not what I ordered. The seller offered me a refund of half the amount. Very good communication, too bad the item did not meet my expectations.

Disappointed by this product which can be used only 2 months, I find that little compared to other charcoals which are usable 6 months. I find the charcoal very fragile and I am afraid that it does not hold... in short I do not.

No proof of effectiveness. When the water stagnates it ends up tasting like this... buy by conscience to try to drink again the tap water already filtered with Doulton.

It may surprise you but the result is quite pleasant. The real "hitch" for me is the time needed to purify... it is advised to leave the stick for 8 hours... that's a lot! And the minimum recommended is 4 hours... which is also a lot. The life announced for each stick is excellent and the taste is very pleasant and has nothing to envy to a filtering carafe. I recommend... in more it is organic!

Binchotan is an activated charcoal that is a bit special. It is made from specially selected oak wood and prepared according to a traditional Japanese method to increase its detoxifying power. Indeed, it is supposed to capture heavy metals, pesticides, drug residues, chlorine, arsenic, aluminum... and just about everything that can make water dangerous for your health.Note that I would not risk using the binchotan to make pond water drinkable, its use is rather reserved for the detoxification of water that would already be drinkable, starting with tap water or bottled water.a brief notice appears on the packaging (soft but everything arrived intact), as well as a link to download a more complete notice. Basically, the sticks have to be cooked for 10 minutes in boiling water before the first use. Please note that during this step they give back a lot of dust and that the water thrown away is a bit black. Then the sticks can be put at the bottom of a carafe of water of about 1 liter (be careful, they have the consistency of stone and sink very quickly: do not throw them too vigorously in an empty glass carafe at the risk of having to go and get the vacuum cleaner quickly!) They should be left for 4 to 8 hours to ensure good water depolution. The sticks can then be reused for a month, then need to be boiled for 10 minutes to get rid of the accumulated toxins. The process can be repeated 5 more times, which allows for a total of 6 months of use. Having a rainwater harvesting system with a filtration and potabilization system at home, I decided to test a binchotan stick to remove a taste that had appeared in my water over the last few weeks and that was related to the fermentation of pollen in the tanks. The unpleasant taste has been reduced but is still perceptible. Other shapes of sticks exist (longer, cylindrical or flat...), which does not change the principle of action but modifies the speed of capture according to the surface of exchange (1h can be enough for long and flat sticks for example). The number of reuse can also vary (from 2 months to 6 months according to the shape and the volume of the sticks).

I am very much against plastic bottles, they pollute our planet, we drink exclusively water and a little bit of wine too, the burgundy! The Binchotan or natural wood of Japan has really (according to certain site) capacities to purify water, I see more an interest to mask a little the taste of tap water. My wife and my children really find that water has a little different taste but not less pleasant for all that.

I had a discussion with the seller because the beads are not anti-scale for kettles. I must say quite honestly that the seller refunded my purchase. So I recognize the honesty of this seller and hope that he will make an improvement to his product.

I bought this product so that it would fit more easily in my gourd, but I am disappointed because it doesn't have the same properties as the others that I bought. Moreover they make deposits not very pleasant

It is really sad to receive the aricle without the right number of ceramic beads. Indeed, I received 15 instead of 30. I am sending the item back. If there were 30, I would have kept them.

Here is something that will be, is and will be useful to clean the water of its chemical products because the purification of the water can in certain places be very very chemical, in particular when one lives in agricultural zone or to enrich the water in mineral salts and oligo-elements.It is a bamboo box on which the notice is indicated in English and French, we are also told that the bamboo comes from a family farm in responsible agriculture but we do not know where in the world and that carbon emissions are compensated.the use is simple, just boil the charcoal sticks before use and then plunge them at least 1 hour in a carafe (or a bottle) of tap water to purify the water and add mineral salts.it is explained that they can be reused up to 4 weeks.
