I liked the concept but they have a problem with logistics and I had a bad experience. I was excited when I learned about Tomojo and I ordered a pack of kibbles and three packs of treats to try. A few days later, I received only one pack of treats. I contacted them and they informed me that the other packs were coming in a separate shipment. So I was waiting for it, and then I got only a pack of kibbles. Two packs of treats were still missing. I emailed them again, they apologized for this and sent me another package. Surprisingly, there was only one pack of treats and I didn't receive the last pack in the end. I wanted to try Tomojo because they were environment-friendly products. They could ship everything in one package if they do really care about the environment, but instead, they did it three times (and it could have been four times if I asked them to give me the last missing pack). I wish they could improve their logistics.

I am still in the middle of transitioning from regular kibbles to Tomojo kibbles. I don't have enough hindsight yet that's why I'm removing a little star. But my cat seems to appreciate them. She shouldn't be reluctant to switch to 100% of these kibbles. However, I noticed that the composition is not completely free of animal products (duck fat and hydrolyzed animal proteins), but it is probably essential for the nutritional needs of our animals. I am still clearly happy that there is this more ecological alternative and I applaud the project. Thanks to them and thank you for the planet.

However, you raised a very interesting point: the duck fat contained in our kibble. The incorporation of duck fat (which comes from the southwest of France and is sourced from non-fed ducks) is a lever for improvement for us in 2020. We indeed wish to substitute it with insect oil: however, we are still experiencing some difficulties in incorporating it into our production chain, but also in sourcing it: we are counting heavily on the development of the French entomoculture sector which is starting to take off. My cat loves it, but... I'm afraid of only giving him carbohydrates.. Let me explain: at first I was seduced by the organic, eco-friendly side, I wanted to give him exclusively these kibbles.. but I looked closely.. and there are too many carbohydrates while a feline in the absolute eats prey of which, in the gastric system, we sometimes find seeds, fruits... but in very small quantities!! It will be occasional... What a pity!!

I was very curious about the concept and was looking for more environmentally friendly kibble. My cat completely rejected them, despite our attempt at a gentle transition. You will find the ingredients, analytical constituents, and additives present in the kibble. Transparency about our products is therefore total as you also find the detail of the carbohydrate content of our kibble which seems to be a problem for you. Regarding carbohydrates, they are essential for your cat's health, there are 3 types: - The first, digestible sugars, simple like glucose or complex like starch (long chain of glucose) with slow assimilation. Without glucose in the diet, one can live thanks to a metabolic process of production from certain amino acids (called gluconeogenesis), but it is very costly for the kidneys and liver. - The second, insoluble sugars also called dietary fibers, are celluloses, hemicelluloses, pectins, gums, and mucilages. These carbohydrates will not be digested by carnivores, they are not sources of nutrients. However, they are absolutely essential for the very complex functioning of the digestive tract, particularly for its interactions with the intestinal flora and maintaining this flora at an appropriate level. - The third, associated carbohydrates, represent a very small fraction but are just as essential, we find them in certain plants and in yeast membranes. They play a role in nutrient absorption, help balance the intestinal flora, and stimulate the immune system. We know them better as fructo-oligosaccharides, manno-oligosaccharides, inulin... Therefore, kibble with too low a carbohydrate content would be dangerous for your cat. The carbohydrate content of our kibble is therefore adapted to your kitty's good health and we are even well below the maximum rates allowed by FEDIA. Finally, regarding the dietary transition, it is important to mix your cat's old kibble with its new ones to gradually get it used to its new diet over two weeks. The delivery and quality service and follow-up are excellent, but unfortunately my cats do not like these kibbles at all. They carefully sorted them and left them all; I am obviously unable to say if other cats would find them to their taste, you may have better luck. I wanted to avoid having to sacrifice animals for my own companions, being a vegetarian myself. So, regrettably, I will have to continue with the classic kibbles. Therefore, I gave the rest of the pack to my chickens. Nothing was wasted.
