The Delivery has need some time but thats cause of the global Situation with covid. Customer Service was ok and the Order seems to be nice.

Excellent customer service despite major raw materials shortage, and great products delivered. I can tell that the SPES Heavy gauntlets and Black Armoury's own "DoHEMA" Tournament mask and accessories are very strong, heavy-duty equipment. One problem is that, on top of the price of the goods and shipping, I was not notified that I would have to pay very large customs tax and VAT at the UK border. I would have liked to know this *before* ordering items so I could plan my budget accordingly. By the time my second shipment arrived, I will have had to pay almost £200 to get my equipment through the Border Force.

Dear Andrew, I am very sorry for the UK duties and taxes you were levied. Indeed, since BREXIT came into force, all shipments from the EU to the UK are imports. We will try to make the post-BREXIT situation for UK orders clearer on the website (it's true that at the moment this to obligation to pay import duties and taxes for customers outside the EU are "buried" in our Terms and Conditions). the selection on the store is wide, the prices are good compared to other sites, the interaction with the customer support was not optimal (reason of the missing fifth star). this miscommunication can be due to the overload of the time frame but still it's a point that can be improved.

Good product for sure, but manufacturing is long and communication about it was very late, I waited three mounths before getting any answer but when I finally got one, it was to say "sorry for the delay" and to ship it. Long manufacturing is understandable but communication could have been a beat better. Otherwise it was clear and easy to order,

The order came in fairly good time. Packaging was appropriate and the product was received complete. However, and Allen Key was included in the order automatically and I could not remove it (I have them anyway). Also It is not useful for the provided product. So, a bit weird and a waste of money.

Dear Robert, Thank you for your review on the website. I thought I'd send you a quick note of explanation. The Allen key is indeed included with all SWAP compatible swords, including the indoor trainer. It allows you to remove the pommel to change the blade, or in the very rare cases where it becomes loose. The key is therefore included, but not charged to the customer. Kind regards, Anthony

The site, range, ordering etc. were all excellent. Stock issues due to COVID delayed my order (a lot!) but that wasn't really Black Armoury's fault and as soon as the main item was in stock shipping was quick from France to Australia. My main concern was the time it took to get a response to questions about the order - I left several messages through the website before resorting to Facebook and email to get an update. Once I got my first response they were great, answering questions within 24 hours, but that initial lack of any indication that my query had been seen, let alone answered, wasn't very encouraging.

Would give 5 stars but the dagger that arrived was not a parrying one, in fact, it was a rondel dagger(it even said so on the wrapping).

The site itself it's well made. You can find pretty much everything you'll need for HEMA practice. My order wasn't shipped in a hurry but as soon as it was shipped I received in a few days.

What would put these over the top would be to have the option of removing select pieces, so instead of riveted straps, use snaps.

One of the products, RedDragon gloves, had a not-critical manufacturing defect which was quite apparent so the gloves should not have been sent to the customer. On the CarbonGloves advertisement on their siite, I would propose to remove information that the gloves are suited for sword-and-buckler sparring since the protection is not adequate.

Note: Covid apparently affected our order. The delivery time was...bad. Months and months. The website stock level apparently unreliable. The customer service responses few and far between. At least we got the products and they were good. Also some compensation, which lifted the stars from 1 to 3.

There has been a problem with the packet. It has been forgotten at the post office. But after a qustion, where my packet remains the problem has been solved. It came a little bit after I have expected it, but it was okay. So not everything is perfect, but they're giving their best to do so, so it's a good chop in my opinion.

The service was good, but there is a problem with the products they are selling. Information is incorrect and thus I’m disatisfied with my orders ( arcem hema jacket) and arm protectors. Hema jacket has no shoulder protection. Thus I was hoping the arm protectors will provide it but they don’t cover the colar bone.

They have a good shop and they make good products. In my opinion, the online shop could be generally vastly improved. And there could be a better description about measuring body sizes for custom tailored products, but maybe they already did that :)
