I have my doubts about the fact that it is solid silver. no hallmark.....
Have you checked the back of each "blade" for the hallmark?
In general, we do it in a corner or on a discreet spot, so that it is not obvious on the jewel for aesthetic reasons. For these buckles, it's usually either a top or bottom corner, at the back of the blades.
