The cast aluminum plates do not stick: I only needed to oil them once to make 20 waffles. Top-notch! To my knowledge, this is the only waffle maker on the market offering plates without non-stick coating, thus without PFAS (PTFE, PFOA, etc.), which are eternal pollutants and ultra-toxic.
