Hello Sylvie, thank you for your interest in our products! For an absence of one week, the pearls can stay at the bottom of your carafe, the water will be perfectly drinkable upon your return. In case of a prolonged absence (from two to three weeks), you can keep the pearls dry. Before reusing them next time, we simply advise rinsing them, then submerging them back into your carafe and waiting at least 30 minutes before consuming the water, just like for the first use.
