This activated carbon filter does not give any unpleasant or peculiar taste to the water, whether you use it in a glass or earthen jug, or in a metal or plastic flask. I can't really tell if it actually filters the water, but I have noticed something quite peculiar: when you leave water in a closed water bottle for several days, it doesn't take on that rancid and weird taste we are used to. I have one criticism: the shape and the size of the sticks do not allow to insert them in all the bottles, because they don't always fit in the neck. Well, personally it only happened with one bottle, but it's a shame. On the other hand, it has another advantage: when you drink, the stick stays at the bottom and does not go through the neck to land in your mouth or in your glass. Note that in a metal bottle, as the stick tends to move, it makes a little noise when you move or when you move your bottle or your carafe.

The water in my neighborhood is very hard, so I bought these beads to filter the tap water and stop buying water packs. I am very happy with the result, the water has a more neutral taste, without any aftertaste. I chose the grey ceramic beads because they are much more economical as you don't need many (about ten per liter) and their life span is very long (10 years) so it's quiet for a while.
