Earlier this year, I received and was generally impressed with the Somfy home security system which brought together a number of solid elements in a smart package. I was particularly interested therefore when an option appeared to add a camera into the mix and replace the Cocoon version that I'd had up until now. Could it get me to delete their app?First impressions suggested so as setup was definitely more straightforward - turn your camera on, open the app and put in your wifi password so that the camera can connect directly. From there you're pretty much done, the camera has a built in motion sensor that once activated records 10 second clips which are saved and can also work with the rest of the kit to record or trigger the alarm. Continuous recording is available for an extra monthly fee, while you can also open the app at any time to see what's happening.In my experience, the image quality is pretty decent and the motion detection reasonably accurate - I haven't experienced any false positives. There's also the additional option for a privacy shutter which comes across the camera when you don't need, such as when you're at home which is something good to differentiate this camera from some of the alternatives out there.Overall therefore what you've got here is actually a pretty decent camera, with reasonable functionality subscription free that gets even better if you work it in with the rest of the security kit. For me, it's definitely out with the Cocoon and in with this one instead.

I have been using ebac powerpac 21 liters dehumidifier for about 4 years and bought this to replace it since the previous one is adamantly leaking. Currently both are in operation, and this has extracted a lot of water already from the bedrooms. Initially for few days it ran all day and night but now it appears to stop and run when the humidity goes up.Like one of the reviewers mentioned, there was a strong chemical smell on the first day of use and i would recommend to leave it running somewhere you dont bother much for a day before moving to bedroom or the bedroom floor.I am using the HEPA air filter as well and i am pretty happy the bedrooms feels dry and fresh.>>> Updated after an year of use:I am extremely satisfied with this product.

As an Asthmatic who is always complaining of air quality. I would thoroughly recommend this Fan. It keeps the air flowing around the room and even on the lowest settings it makes me feel a massive difference of air quality. It is silent except on the 7/8/9 setting when its blowing like a gale. It is my most prized possession and I am very pleased with it. I can easily flick through the settings as I need on the remote. It has made my life much more comfortable as climate change is starting to give us the hotter summers.

Product is brilliant. It tells me when too many people are at my Airbnb, meaning my neighbors don't get upset at too many people or parties. Cameras are obviously prohibited by VRBO and Airbnb (and by our town's new laws), and even if we put a camera up outside someone would have to monitor it 24x7(!) Whats worse is when we tried cameras a few years ago, one renter just covered it up with a piece of tape. This protects my renters privacy, is automagically monitored, and send alerts when thresholds are exceeded. We have three units and they have performed flawlessly. Great invention, can't recommend it enought.

Very easy to install, and in all an excellent all round package.The sensors you can stick up with the included adhesive strips on the back, however I found the heavier sensors like the alarm siren the adhesive won’t hold it for long, but all the sensors have holes you can screw into the wall for extra security. The subscription isn’t required for a basic system but well recommended, I can keep an eye on the status, get alerts on my phone and have the piece of mind that if I am not at home the monitoring service will dispatch the police if I’m not there

The product is definitely more expensive than most smart security cameras available in tektit. However, the nest cam app is very user friendly and intuitively designed. Kinda makes sense since it was originally founded by an engineer who worked at Apple and it is now owned by Google. The motion and sound alerts work very well too. This camera is definitely better than one of those cheap, never-heard-of-companys' security cameras. I know because I owned one before. The app UI was crappy, some options were only available in Chinese, etc, etc. In order to fully take advantage of this camera, you will need $50/year subscription + good wifi in your home because it will eat up your data at least 300GB per month if you decide to record everything in high quality. Without the subscription, I wouldn't recommend it as you can only view videos in live mode (no recording).The set up was super simple and it probably took me about 5 minutes from opening the box to fully operational nestcam.

I have had the camera for a month now and love it. It came with a month free of "Nest Aware" and I can say that I felt it was worth it enough to get a subscription at the end of the trial period. The video quality is excellent. That's honestly the best part about the camera. If anyone was to come into my house when I'm not there, I would be able to easily identify them. I can also push a button and talk to whoever is in my house through the camera.This camera provides peace of mind when we are away from the house or on vacation. We have an alarm system, but the ability to check in on things is great. I have pets, so I don't use the motion alerts, I use the "person alerts" that come with the nest aware subscription. I've tested it and it works every time I've tested it. The only time I get a false alarm is when my cat jumps up on the back of the couch to look out the window because the camera sees him as a 4 foot tall cat man I suppose.The Nest Aware subscription is $100 a year for the first camera and then $50 a year for each additional camera. A lot of the 1 star reviews I've read like the camera, but people seem pretty irate about the cost of the plan. Maybe I'm missing something, but I actually see that as a good value. Not sure if the other people writing reviews have any experience with how much home security costs, but in the realm of monthly subscriptions, that is cheap and the product is worth it. Call me crazy, but I don't find it unacceptable, evil, or taking advantage of me to charge $100 a year for 24/7 HD monitoring that I can access for up to 10 days. To each their own. If you disagree, just make sure to leave a comment about how dumb I am. That will really show me. People mention "Arlo" as the cheaper option if you have a problem with the monthly subscription. I'm not saying anything about Arlo because I don't know anything about it, just make sure you do your research and know the difference of what you miss out on, if anything. I have a friend who uses Arlo and they love it. She showed me on her phone and the video quality looked good.A tip to parents of young kids...this camera is much better quality than the baby monitor we bought for around the same price, HOWEVER, you would need to utilize the motion/audio sensor or just constantly monitor your phone or computer. I've not used it as a baby monitor so I'm not sure the drawbacks, but like I said, the image quality is amazing.

The media could not be loaded. Ok let me just start off by saying that like most shoppers I spent a lot of time researching and comparing different types of cameras and What I was looking for was for something easy to use, easy installations and wireless.I’ve lived in my home for 2 1/2 years and never had a package stolen and within 2 weeks of installing the cam right around Christmas I had 2 packages stolen, and thanks to the crisp and clear image of the nest cam I was able to identify the car and spotted it the next day. I contacted my local precinct and they waited for the perpetrator to come back to his cAr and as it turns out he was still wearing the same clothing as captured in the video. He was subsequently arrested.Bottom line is if you’re looking for a good quality image and a camera that is easy to use with awesome alerts look no further. I installed it with ease in 30 min or so and can now monitor my home from anywhere in the world. Not to mention the ability to talk to anyone coming to my door live.

This is an amazing piece of kit! The 10.1 inch Screen is bright with very sharp images and I love the motion tracking feature. (This really impressed my wife- she now loves this and all my other Echo products around the house).Set-up is simple if you have an tektit account and it has to be placed on a flat secure surface or it notifies you and goes idle, until it is secure. It has a very wide turning circle so give it a clear space either side.I haven't set up the Echo to Echo video feature with the Echo Show 8 in the Living Room room. (I want to surprise my wife with this feature) so we have that to look forward to very soon.It is very expensive though, but I feel a very worth while investment, especially if you don't want to pay for a high grade speaker system.It feels sturdy, but is not too heavy and looks fantastic with it's simple styling and set up giving it a futuristic look and feel.The sound quality is excellent too and being able to watch Netflix and Prime Video is just great.This is by far the best Echo Show model I have seen, to date and I love it!Update: I have now tried the video chat and it works a treat. My wife is very pleased she doesn't always have to msg me if I'm in my "study" and we can chat face-to-face. The screen image is excellent and the sound is really good too!!
