Hello, I had already bought a Crambes hat at a market in Saint Gildas in Morbihan, it shrank after washing (at 30°) size 'L', that's why I ordered a new one in size XL. Too big for my head, but after washing it turned out to have shrunk to the right size. I hope, however, that this phenomenon will not happen again during a future wash! Regarding the size issue, it often shrinks because when you clean it; you need to clean it well with cold water and ammonia and not warm or hot because that's when it shrinks.
Otherwise, the Tanzania Safari hat in cotton has a fabric with UV Standard 801 - Protect 80 - UVP 504/1 to effectively protect you from the sun even when wet.
