I bought these beads to improve the quality of the tap water we drink. I already had activated carbon (Binchotan) and these beads complement it perfectly! We don't have any bad taste of lime anymore and are really happy with the result. These bamboo charcoal sticks are very convenient for filtering water in carafes. The package contains 5 sticks, but they need to be handled with care because they are a bit brittle. The use is very easy. The first time to activate the charcoal you have to soak them in hot water, then remove the water. Then you can use them normally. The taste of the water does not change much, which is good. It is better to let the water soak for 4 hours. After one month, you can reactivate the charcoal and use it again for another month.
