The 3 Binchotans were all whole. In use, they don't break as long as you avoid shocks in the carafe and thermal shocks (especially after scalded). Otherwise, once the chlorine smell is gone, the water is very pleasant to the taste.

Received quickly as well as the e-book of use and in good condition but they are very fragile, the one I used started to crack by itself before I even boiled it. I tested it right away: 4 hours soaked in the glass carafe filled with city water. I feel like the water is filtered. But the water of my city has a bad taste and even if it was attenuated it remains bad taste after the use of the carbon. So I reserve this water for preparation such as tea, coffee or cooking.

After two days (2 days after the date of order) I received by mail, an e-book containing information on the Binchotan in general + instructions for proper use of bamboo charcoal. The water is really much better after filtration with this carbon. It is also softer.
